Zoroastrianism is the ancient, monotheistic religion of the Persian empire (modern-day Iran), but contains about 200,000 followers today (mostly in India).
The religion was founded by the Iranian prophet Zoroaster, also known as Zarathustra,in the 6th century BCE.
The descendants of Zoroastrian-Persian immigrants are called 'Parsis' or 'Parsees'
The religion is known as Parsiism in India
Most religious historians believe that the Jewish, Christian and Muslim beliefs were all derived from Zoroastrianism, due to it's same faith in one God, judgment day, and heaven and hell
